The Car Tether Pet Car Tether with Seat-Belt Clip — Also a Short Walk Lead | Harness Only

Some trips only need a simple limit: your cat or small dog on the seat, not in your lap. Then you park, unclip, and they still need two minutes on a short lead to the lobby.

One end is a seat-belt-style metal tongue. It clicks into many vehicle buckles. When a buckle is not handy, the same tongue can hook onto other metal anchors in the cabin — always check that it seats firmly in your car. The other end is a screw-lock swivel hook for a harness D-ring. After you clip on, push the sleeve up to lock so the gate is less likely to pop open.

1. Fitted harness — never a collar.
2. Click the tongue into the vehicle buckle until it latches. If a buckle is not handy, hook the tongue onto another firm metal anchor and check that it holds in your car.
3. Clip to the harness D-ring on the back, then push the sleeve up to lock.
4. Adjust so they can sit or lie down, but cannot reach you, the pedals, or an open window.
5. Check hardware every trip. Replace if worn.

Unclip from the car first, then hold the webbing. Curb, lobby, elevator — not a hiking leash. The buckle tongue is not a handle.

The elastic section eases a sudden everyday pull. It does not absorb a crash. Reflective strips help you see the lead at dusk.

Collar or harness? Harness only. A collar concentrates force on the neck.

Only the seat-belt buckle? Many standard receivers. If a buckle is awkward, you can try the hook edge on another firm metal anchor. Check the fit in your car.

Does it use the seat-belt buckle? When the tongue is clicked into a buckle, that seating position’s belt is in use. Hooking to another metal anchor does not occupy a seat belt.

Does the lock mean they cannot escape? No. The sleeve helps keep the clip from opening by accident. Still use a fitted harness.

Will this protect them in a crash? We have not tested that and do not claim it.

Can I hike with it? No — short walks only, after you unclip from the car.
